Frequently Asked Questions
What are lash extensions
Lash extensions are are a semi permanent enhancement, designed to add volume and length to the eyelashes.
How long do they last?
After an initial full set, lash extensions look their best for up to 2-3 weeks. After that, a fill appointment is recommended. The lifespan of an eyelash varies, but it is normal to lose between 1-3 natural lashes per eye, per day. Since lash extensions are attached to the natural lash, fill appointments are necessary to maintain a full look.
What is “Volume”?
Volume lashes are several ultra-fine diameter lash extensions attached to one natural lash. In the early days of lash extensions, the only option was “classic” lashes, or 1 lash extension attached to one natural lash. This was a great option for those who just wanted some length, but for those who wanted a thicker, more voluminous look, classics weren’t enough. Volume lash art was invented in Russia, providing the ability to create a more customized look than classic lashes could offer. One of the key differences between classic and volume lash extensions is the weight of the lashes applied. Artists can add more lashes without overburdening the natural lash because of the fine diameter. Whatever your style, whether wispy and elegant or full and glamorous, I can completely tailor your look while maintaining the integrity your lashes. Your lash health is my top priority!
How do I take care of them?
Keep your lashes clean by washing them daily with a cleanser formulated for lash extensions. Brush them daily with a clean mascara wand, and avoid using oil based products near the lash line. Refrain from rubbing, picking, or pulling the lashes. Do not use eyelash curlers nor tint or perm the lashes. Be sure to book fills every 2-3 weeks to keep them looking their best.
Is it damaging?
No, lash extensions are not damaging to the natural lash if they are applied in a correct manner by a trained lash artist. When choosing an artist, it is very important to make sure that they are well trained. When applied correctly, lash extensions stay attached to the natural lash until it sheds on it’s own. After this natural shedding, the lash growth cycle starts again.
When should I re-book?
I recommend booking fill appointments between 2-3 weeks after a full set. If you want to maintain your lashes, it is important that you have at least 50% of your extensions left at your fill appointment. If you have very few lashes left and would like to rebook, you should book a full set.
I just want to get them for a special occasion, is that okay?
Yes, it is totally fine to get them for a one time special occasion. In that case, you can book a full set appointment and just let them shed naturally without booking a follow up appointment. If you do not want to wait for them to shed naturally, you can book a removal.
What if I want to take them off?
Book a removal. Do not try to pull them off as doing so can cause damage to your natural lashes.
Can I use mascara?
I do not recommend mascara for lash extensions
